I noticed last week a different flower on a C.macropetala ,the flowers were six sepeled and smaller than the rest of the flowers which are 8Cm. across, these new flowers are aroun 5.5 Cm , acrosss whilst the origional floweres have sepels which are twisted over their length . As you can see the sepels are flat .  The bad weather put paid to the chance of any seeds , I have taken cuttings from the new growth that bore the flowers , I do not know the chances of the six sepal flowers being produced , I will have to wait and see . But then thats all the enjoyment of growing plants .  There seems to be more  flowers on all my plants , so there may be other suprises on the way .

Hi. Aiden.
Yes I photo'd it before I went away for a few days , on return I was told there had been heavy winds and rain , so all that was left was two stems with little evidence of the two flowers , but I had also tied a marker around the stem joint ,
I do this with all plants I wish to remember I have a memory like a sieve , The cutting material only gave four cuttings but there is always a chance that i may be lucky.
