Hello Ton

Just seen your picture of C.Henryi. Very beautiful. You say your plant is an import from China. How did you obtain it? Is it possible to import it and how can this be done? Thanks.

This plant is only for 4 years in my collection. It is an import from China and you get a piece of wood with some tiny roots therefore there are only a few in the hobby. The plants from Crug Farm are not from China.
The plant is not too difficult and in the future a cultivar will be available.

Very beautiful photos.  Does this one require a lot of space to grow? I am just wondering why these species plants are not a more popular choice. To me it seems that anything fragrant and in bloom at this time of year would appeal to a lot of people. Or are they difficult to grow? Just curious.

Ton, you keep tempting me with these beautiful clematis.Big%20smile So far I have bought alternata and Kweichowensis.  This goes on my list for 2007.  Is henryi  flowering now?  Any special soil required? What about watering?  I am following your instructions about watering and my alternata now has leaves, which is a good sign. Thanks for your help.Star

Hi everyone,

Yes Ton you are right, there seems to be a problem with the upload image option and I am looking into it. I will let you know when it is fixed.

One of the most fragrant clematis is the species henryi. My henryi comes from China. The plant has a lot of flowers.
