hi all this is my first time posting,i would like your advise on which clematis plants would suit my situation.i have an arbour which is about 2m tall by 1m wide and is south facing.i would like two different clematis to twist around it,one with nice big flowers like the crystal fountain and another which is highly scented.i also have two dogs so would like to steer away from anything that is harmful for them. Many thanks for any help you can give..pete
p.s where would be the best place for me to get them?Smile

Hi, It is not clear where in the world you live and what your general climate conditions are. What ever you choose, if you are growing more than one clematis in close proximaty make sure they are of the same pruning group, for if they intermingle you will have a difficult job when it comes to pruning. Triternata Rubromarginata is a scented climber, so to is rhederiana. Crystal Fountain is a 'light prune type but is not that vigorous. The two I have mentioned are group 3, hard prune to about a meter every year in early spring.
