This pretty viticella hybrid is one that you don't come across very often. The flowers have a spread of up to 6.5 on stalks that are up to 22cm long.

Paul,
A beautiful delicate flower, I will look to find  it in the spring. I think viticella are perhaps the most rewarding clematis, easy to grow and free to flower!
Regards,
Jack

Fine pictures, Paul! I saw Roy Nunn's nice plant when IClS visited him in 2004. Roy presented the plant also as Clematis of the Month for November 2006 (http://www.clematisinternational.com/page121.html). He writes, that "Selection from seedlings grown by F. M. Westphal". [In Clematis Register there is only listed an older 'Rosea' (Viticella Group)].

I grow C. viticella 'Hågelby Pink', which has more tiny flowers:

Very interesting Timo, I wasn't aware of it being featured as Clematis of the Month. This plant is just as Roy describes it, including the low vigor compared with a typical viticella.
In the Westphal catalogue, the flowers are described as being 3-4cm in diam and COTW  gives a similar figure. The flowers on this plant are all larger than this. Roy doesn't mention flower size in his write-up.
Hagelby pink is also very attractive with somewhat larger flowers.
