I bought a Clematis Crystal Fountain about a month ago,I have noticed that halfway up the plant the leaves are crinkled & dry but the bottom half the leaves look pretty healthy.
I bought it from Homebase & am not convinced it had been watered that often, dont know if that is the cause.
I water it everyday & have just given it Miracle Gro & not sure what else to do.
I am a learner when it comes to gardening & need help.
Hope someone can help me,please!Cry

Hi Paula

Crystal Fountain is a wonderful cultivar and you should not be too worried about the leaves at this moment, I am sure they will not worsen.

I would not feed with Miracle Grow too often because it is very high in nitrogen. For a new clematis use a handful of bone meal wriggled into the soil surface by the root, this will encourage new root growth which is essential.  Cut off the worst effected leaves and burn them (just in case) and then give it a feed with tomato fertiliser twice a couple of weeks apart.

I hope this helps your plant pull through and thrive.

Hi Peter
Thank you so much for your advice.
I will carry out those instructions.
It is such a stunning plant so fingers crossed.
Thank you once again.
