Articles in the BCS Journal 'The Clematis'

The BCS Journal is sent each year to every member, home and overseas, and the BCS welcomes articles for potential inclusion. Articles can be of a general or more specific nature and are welcome from beginners, amateurs and more experienced growers alike. The aim is to present as wide a range of illustrated articles as possible, connected with clematis, hopefully so that there is 'something for everyone' each year.

Articles and letters for possible inclusion in The Clematis 2009 should be addressed to: The Editor, Mr B. Collingwood, 11 Mirfield Drive, Monton, Eccles, Manchester M30 9LH or by email to -

If you wish to send an article for possible publication the address is above, or, if you prefer to set out thoughts or principles the material can be expanded into article form or included in a collective article (always with acknowledgement of your contribution).

Copy should be presented on disc in Word format (or an email is fine) if possible but hand-written submissions, notes, queries and letters also are most welcome.

Photos are very welcome (images as large as possible) - preferred as digital images in jpeg, tiff or other format. Articles can be of any length, 600 words (a couple of A4 pages) is suitable for a shorter article.

If submitting technical articles, please include detail and explanation that will aid the lay reader.

Advertising in the BCS Journal

The BCS welcomes enquiries from all potential Journal advertisers... a wide audience of clematis and garden lovers will read about your offering. Advertising rates are available from -

Advertisements are preferred as finished pdf files where possible.
