Hello, I've been doing some pruning and tidying up of my clematis and thinking about what is the best food for them.

Do Clematis respond better to liquid feed (miracle gro) or a granular fertiliser or both? and how often?

I give them a compost mulch only once a year in spring - maybe should do it twice!

Just wondered for clematis as i understand they are big feeders.

Any tips/advice most welcome

Thanks Danny

Granular fert. (chloride free!!!)Is good if used wisely, and the cheapest option, slow release and liq. the most expensive, Clem’s are gross feeders.

And when pruning do not delay feeding (3 days delay may well delay flowering with 1-3 weeks compared with feeding on the day of pruning)
