I am in need of help please.  Can anyone identify this clematis.  I have to prune and move, otherwise lose it.

I am afraid that the image you have posted is too small and lacks detail.

Not much, you need a 640x480 or 800x600pix and make it and lower the screen res. to 72pix

It look like an Alpina (Atragene)

When your plant is a cultivar which you bought at a nursery or gardencentre, it might be Clematis 'Blue Eclipse'
