C. lanuginosa as the botanical species does not seem to be in cultivation anymore in the west (or the orient?). It was originally found in Zhejiang province in E. China.

Although it is not too difficult nowadays to find C. patens from China, Korea or Japan, you never hear of C. lanuginosa being grown whether in a botanic garden or commercially. Does anybody know why this is and have there been any efforts to recover it from the region in which it is endemic?
